Ginger tea is a paradise for tea lovers and It is a widely consumed drink worldwide. It is prepared by fresh ginger or a store-bought tea bag. Ginger teas has a warming, slightly spicy taste. Ginger tea has a long history in various parts of Asia, where it has been used for both medicinal and culinary purposes. Some historians believe Ginger tea was created as early as the Tang dynasty in seventh-century China, when ginger was added to tea as a flavor enhancer.

Caffeine Content

Because it contains only ginger and hot water, ginger teas contains no caffeine. However, if you make ginger tea using a pre-made tea bag, be sure to check labels. Certain types of tea leaves, like black or green, will add caffeine. 

Along with the taste ginger teas has some health benefits too and they are:

Gingeroals and shogaols are two active compounds in ginger and they help in relieving nausea and vomiting. It may also help in relieving morning sickness during pregnancy just by combining a teaspoon of mint juice, lemon juice, and a tablespoon of honey with ginger tea.

Ginger contains key phytonutrients known as gingerols, and research has shown that these can have an antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effect which, when drunk as a tea, may help support a healthy microbiome. Ginger may also be able to relieve menstrual pain, as well as pain that occurs due to osteoarthritis.

Ginger helps in controlling appetite and increasing thermogenesis (heat production) therefore it can be beneficial when it comes to weight and obesity. It may be beneficial to include ginger teas as part of a balanced diet.

Ginger Tea Vs White Tea 

Both ginger tea and white tea share health benefits as ginger teas which is known to help reduce inflammation in the body, turning it into an easy-to-drink beverage that can also help ease nausea and menstrual cramps, aid digestion, prevent chronic disease, and more. The phytochemical ‘gingerol’ gives ginger teas its potent properties and allows you to reap the many health benefits without having to consume large quantities. 

White tea:

 White tea is the most delicate and minimally processed tea variety. It is harvested before  the tea plants are open fully and due to that the young buds are covered by white hairs and therefore it is called white tea. It was first discovered in China’s Fujian province thousand years ago and it has gained popularity in recent years. 

White tea is actually one of the most potent teas because of the fact that its compounds are left largely intact and not destroyed in heating and processing. White tea is known to protect your oral hygiene, promote weight loss, reduce the risk of heart disease, and lower bad cholesterol in the body.

Add ginger tea to your diet:

Ginger teas can be consumed at any time of day. It works well as a pick-me-up first thing in the morning, but you may also find it helps after a meal to ease digestion.

You can add fresh lemon or honey, or buy different flavored tea bags, such as lemon and ginger or ginger green tea.
